Neurological Consultation and Care
Dr. Greeley performs all the initial neurology consultations and new patient evaluations. Patients may be seen without a referral, but it is best to get a referral to help with the collection of old records and other information from previous evaluations. Follow-up care is performed by both Dr. Greeley and Jamie Mark, ARNP.
DBS (Deep Brain Stimulation) Evaluation and Management
In 1995 when DBS was in its infancy in the United States, neurologist Dr. David Greeley already had a large percentage of patients with Parkinson's disease, tremor, and dystonia who were interested in the procedure. He contacted Spokane neurosurgeon Dr. Jeff Hirschauer, who had stereotactic training and interest in the procedure. Dr. Hirschauer went on to perform the first DBS surgery in Spokane in 1996, assisted by Dr. Greeley in the operating room. Jamie Mark, ARNP joined the team in 2000, and collectively, they have completed over 200 surgeries for patients with tremor and Parkinson's disease. This center of excellence in Spokane is one of the oldest, largest and most successful programs for DBS in the United States. (Read more...)
Neurophysiology
Items listed below are done as an extension of the neurological examination on selected patients and also available on referral without neurological consultation included.
- EMG (Electromyography): muscle evaluation.
- NCS (Nerve Conduction Studies): nerve study.
Botox Injections
When Dr. Greeley came to Spokane in 1993, no one was providing Botox injections in Washington except West of the Cascades. For this reason, he has developed a large practice, and presently does injections for cervical dystonia, blepharospasm, hemifacial spasm, writer's cramp, spasticity, headache, and cosmetics (reduction of wrinkles and excessive sweating).
Medical-Legal Consultation
Dr. Greeley has worked as a medical expert in cases for the defense of both patients and physicians.
